Calls
Calls: who reads the world best
Call whether a topic or an industry will get more or less of a country’s attention in 1, 4 or 12 weeks. We judge every call from our own data and keep score. Calling what usually happens pays little; calling a surprise right pays a lot.

How calls work
- Pick a topic in a country (on its topic page) or an industry in a country (on the country’s industry page), say whether it will get more or less attention, and when we should judge it: in 1, 4 or 12 weeks.
- On that day we compare the topic’s score in the country’s ranking (for an industry, its share of the country’s attention) with the day of your call. Higher is “more”; the same or lower is “less”.
- A right call earns more points the less likely it was. Most rising topics fade, so “less” usually pays little and a right “more” pays a lot. The points come from our archive’s history and are shown before you call.
- You can take a call back only on the day you made it. Up to 10 calls a day and 50 open at once.
- You appear under a name made of two words and a number, never your own, and you can hide it from the leaderboards.
